Wako is excited to announce their sequel to "Ut av det nye," which received a Norwegian Grammy nomination and was praised by audiences both near and far. Nettavisen called Wako "Our best men!" and described them as a collaborative band, which might be the understatement of the year. and the Dutch publication Written in Music recognized them as one of Europe's most interesting jazz quartets, while Norway's leading newspaper, Dagens Næringsliv, noted that the quartet surpassed themselves with their low-key intensity and superb melodies. On their new album, "Evig liv, perfekt orden," Wako presents ten songs set in a purely acoustic landscape, featuring grand narratives alongside playful and free musical revelations.
Wako is embarking on an exciting new chapter with the release of a remarkable album that contributes to the history of Norwegian jazz. As in their previous work, their music captures a blend of rawness and romance. They skillfully explore themes of order and chaos, dissonance and consonance, as well as light and shadow, merging elements of madness and harmony in a unique way. This album reflects the present moment, highlighting the importance of honesty and musical transparency, brought to life by four curious musicians. These four artists have repeatedly demonstrated the possibilities of jazz, establishing themselves as both young talents and mature figures within the genre. Wako plays with a commanding presence and personality that positions them at the forefront of Nordic jazz. They are frequently recognized as one of the most dynamic and innovative groups on today's jazz scene, a claim that is further confirmed by their latest album.
Individually, the musicians also stand out as soloists, each possessing a unique voice on the jazz scene. They have contributed to acclaimed projects, including the Norwegian Grammy Award-winning bands Hegge and Flukten, as well as nominees such as Siril Malmedal Hauge and Megalodon Collective, and the Espen Berg Trio and Kjetil Mulelid Trio.
