TRIO

KJETIL MULELID TRIO

"The performances are perfect in every respect, both those by the pianists and the rhythm section, which supports

the leader amicably gracing him with a lot of breathing space and even leaving him completely solo at times.

The ensemble camaraderie is marvelous at all times and the trio performs as one spiritual body, combining their

talents into one faultless union." - Adam Baruch

This is my own piano trio with musicians that are involved in some of Norway's most interesting jazz

bands such as Norwegian grammy winner Hegge and nominated  Megalodon Collective, Wako and the

Trondheim Jazz Orchestra. We play modern acoustic jazz, and our music is a mixture of compositions written

by myself and pure collective improvisations.

"The music is simple, beautiful and well-composed tunes which go in and out of expressive

improvisations" (Jazznytt, NO), and "the compositions reflect Mulelid's rich and melodic play" (Salt

Peanuts*, IS). The trio have since 2016 toured most of Europe and Japan, and played concerts on some of

Norway's biggest jazz scenes recorded some great live videos and released two albums ("Not Nearly Enough

To Buy A House" & "What You Thought Was Home" which both got honored worldwide by critics: "It took me

several listens to fully realise just how magical this album is" (The Wire, UK).

Our music is released on the acknowledged record label Rune Grammofon, "a record label dedicated

to releasing work by the most adventurous and creative Norwegian artists and composers".
